The Problem

The Crisis We Can’t Ignore

The impact of sexual assault and domestic violence in the U.S. is staggering. Nearly 5 million cases each year cost the nation an estimated $460 billion in healthcare, lost productivity, and legal expenses. Survivors often face long-term trauma, anxiety, chronic health conditions, and struggles with trust, relationships, and daily function. Traditional interventions frequently fall short, with survivors remaining stuck in cycles of trauma and instability. Lack of financial resources, limited access to comprehensive mental health care, and absence of stable housing only compound the problem.

The Program

Breaking the Cycle With Science

Inspired by the mission of Veronica Winters-Everly, a survivor of multiple traumatic life events, the Women’s Initiative was designed to address these gaps in resources with an innovative, neuroscience-driven recovery model. Through a partnership between Heal the Hero Foundation and Vitanya, the program offers a comprehensive, year-long solution for 100 women survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence.

The Impact

AN INVESTMENT WITH LASTING IMPACT

By combining cutting-edge neuroscience with holistic support systems, it’s possible to empower survivors with the neuroplasticity to transform their lives. Beyond changing individual outcomes, this program demonstrates a scalable, replicable model that has the potential to and strengthen families and communities.
